Website Design
All design ideas are initially produced in photoshop, either re-developing existing brochures, leaflets, etc. for the web or creating a new identity.
Flat image previews are made available in a secure site for approval before proceeding with the actual website development.
Before developing a website we discuss or suggest expected search keywords. Each page of a website should be targeted towards a few related terms.
Flash Website Design
Projects often require some embellishing animation or effects, and Flash (with Action Scripting) is best used for this.
Whenever Flash is required, detection for the plugin is coded so that if a browser doesn’t have the plugin the page can degrade gracefully, ie. use a regular image or text instead.
Flash can also be used to create a whole website. In this case we will create a text only version of the website. This is essential for search engines.
Website Development
As each page is developed, attention is paid towards the HTML/XHTML semantics. The content on each page is separated from style. This helps search engines, makes the site run faster and is easier to make changes.
All new projects conform to the W3C XHTML Strict web standard, CSS Level 2 Specification, and are interoperable across the many platforms and browsers that exist, e.g. Internet Explorer & Firefox.
Website Accessibility
The benefits of developing a text based website, with semantics means text-only browsers and speech readers will already be catered for.
All websites will conform to at least Double-A Level Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
Search Engine Optimisation
The benefits of having good relevant content and using correct semantics (mentioned above), relevant page titles and meta data, your website will already be fully optimised for search engines.
There is no magic-bullet to fool search engines anymore, if your content is relevant to the keywords then you will be listed. How highly depends on how many quality links you have pointing to your website from relevant websites.
Categorised or specific directories related to your business are the easiest way to get relevant links. We get clients started with a few, but getting links is up to the client unless specified in a separate commission.
